Croix de Feu

Awarded to all those who had come under fire during front-line service.

Liege medal

An unnofficial medal that was permitted to be worn on the uniform and first awarded in April 1920. It was awarded to those who fought in the defence of the town and fortresses in 1914. Inhabitants of Liege who were entitled to the "Political Prisoners Medal" were also eligable for the award

Victory Medal

Same criteria for qualification as the War Medal

War Medal ("Commemorative medal of the war")

Awarded to those who served in the Belgian Armed forces between 1st August 1914 and 11th November 1918. There was a number of possible ribbon emblems (a crown for volunteers, a silver bar for each front-stripe (a gilt bar replacing 5 silver ones), a red enamel cross for each wound stripe, black bar for POW, etc.etc.)

Yser Medal

Awarded to those who fought with distinction in the Army on the Yser front between 17th and 31st October 1914. Allied military personel who partook were also eligable.
